Foster Carers provide a valuable service to a rescue group. Without their help dogs would not be able to be saved.
Foster Carers open up there homes to a rescued pup/dog or kitten/cat and look after them as their own until they are adopted. We will always endeavour to match you up with a dog type that you would like to foster. Foster caring is a great way to have an animal without a life long commitment or just to have another dog or kitten around for your own animals to enjoy some company. Fostering an animal is extremely rewarding experience. Foster Carers provide valuable information on a dogs personality to help match them to suitable homes.
Frequently asked questions
What expenses will i incur?
Food is supplied by the foster carer. Veterinary expenses are taken care of by Wagga Animal Rescue.
If the dog is in your care for longer than one month then we ask that you provide a regular flea treatment, but the main thing is to feed your foster dog and love him or her as if they were your own.
How long will I have the rescued animal for?
We do not know. Some animals are rehomed in a day or two, others take months.
Will i be subject to any checks?
Yes, a yard check will be done before fostering.
A few things you may need to ask yourself before fostering:
If you rent, does the landlord allow animals?
Have you consulted with other members of your family or housemates?
Are your fences fully secure?
Are your own animals vaccinations up to date?
